Machine Guarding Principles: Understanding the different types of guards (fixed, interlocked, adjustable) and how to ensure they are tamper-proof and effective.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures: Mastering the 7-step LOTO process to ensure machinery is properly shut off and unable to be started up again prior to the completion of maintenance work.
Machinery Risk Assessment: Learning how to identify mechanical hazards such as drawing-in points, shearing, crushing, and high-velocity projectiles.
Safety Control Systems: Introduction to emergency stops, light curtains, and pressure-sensitive mats as secondary layers of personnel protection.
