About OSH Coordinator Training
Pursuant to Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 1994, employers managing five or more employees at a workplace are legally mandated to appoint at least one internal employee to serve as an Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSHC).
This statutory requirement applies to all industries with the exception of the military, domestic service, and shipping sectors. Non-compliance constitutes a severe legal infraction, carrying a penalty fine not exceeding RM 50,000.00, a prison term of up to six months, or both.
