Course Curriculum
Programme Overview
- Core Purpose: A specialized 1-day workshop designed for "pusing-pusing" commuters and delivery riders, merging Defensive Riding techniques with Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) to combat the high risks of motorcycling.
- The “Invisible Rider” Mindset: Focuses on the psychological reality that car and lorry drivers often fail to see motorcycles, training riders to assume they are invisible and position themselves accordingly.
- Proactive Risk Mitigation: Equips riders with the mental tools to anticipate the erratic movements of other road users, specialized for the unique maneuvering capabilities of a motorcycle.
- Behavioral Modification: Addresses the root causes of rider incidents, such as lane-splitting at high speeds, “rushing” during deliveries, and the overconfidence that leads to fatal errors.
What You Will Learn?
- The BBS of Riding: Identifying internal triggers—such as the “delivery timer” pressure, fatigue, and peer pressure—that lead to risky maneuvers and lane-splitting.
- SIPDE Process: Mastering the Scan, Identify, Predict, Decide, and Execute framework to process road information 10-12 seconds ahead of the bike.
- Lane Positioning & Visibility: Learning the “Life-Saver” glance and how to position the motorcycle in the lane to stay out of blind spots and maximize being seen by others.
- Emergency Braking & Swerving: Technical instruction on the 70/30 front-to-rear braking ratio and how to perform emergency swerves without losing traction.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Understanding the behavioral choice to wear “all the gear, all the time” (ATGATT) and its impact on injury severity.
Why It Matters?
- Life-Saving Prevention: Motorcyclists are the most vulnerable group on Malaysian roads; this course provides the primary defense against life-altering accidents.
- Reduction in Medical & Absenteeism Costs: Fewer rider accidents mean lower healthcare costs and less disruption to the workforce due to medical leave.
- Operational Integrity for Delivery Fleets: For companies with delivery riders, this training ensures that goods are moved safely and that riders remain as professional ambassadors for the brand.
- Enhanced Rider Longevity: By mastering defensive skills, riders can maintain a long, injury-free career, improving overall employee morale and retention.
